A Serious Topic

It took me 3 years to write my 1st blog. It is better late than never. I have a secret to tell all of you. I have been dealing with depression for the last 5 years.

The 1st year of my blog I had ideas to help you overcome depression. My idea of helping you overcome depression did not come true until now. Because in reality – I needed to help myself get out of depression before I can help anyone else. Some experts say – you should help other people when you are trying to deal with your own depression and to not think about yourself. I think to myself when I hear this: How can I help other people if I cannot get myself get out of bed most days?

Everyone needs to find their own way to deal with depression. The 1st year of dealing with my depression – I had to fight with my therapist to put me off depression medicine. I do not understand why most therapist want their patients to be on depression medicine. I have been staying away from medicine for quite some time before they put me on medicine. Please talk to your doctor because you come off of any medicine.

Depression is not something funny to deal with. Depression does not have you under control. You have depression and that is real! There are many ways to overcome depression. You need to find what helps you and take 1 step a day to overcome depression.

My dream for this blog is to: help you overcome depression with positive words, an exercise and things to think about. I do not want you to be alone because you are not. There are so many people dealing with depression that you can ask for help. In 2020, there as been a number of people who stepped out and said they have depression.
